Fun, safe, healthy, & fit!

That’s right!

The WPS 2012 Fun Run is just around the corner.  Our kids will be running  laps around the gym with their classmates on Friday, January 27th to raise money for literacy, technology and wellness programs at Willamette.

Pledge sheets will come home next week. The children are training at school, but you can also help your child prepare by taking a 20 minute walk or jog with them on a sunny evening or a weekend day prior to the run.  Grab an umbrella just in case it starts to pour!

SCIENCE AND INQUIRY FAIR

INVESTIGATIONS, INFORMATION AND INVENTIONS

February 24, 8:00 am-7:00pm

All Willamette Primary School students, individually, as a group, or as an entire class, are welcome and encouraged to enter a project in the 2012 Thirteenth Annual Science and Inquiry Fair, Friday, February 24. Science and Inquiry Fair projects vary greatly, and can include: observations, demonstrations, simple presentations, experiments, working models, collections, and inventions.  Please download the Science Fair packet for more information and guidance.

To enter, please complete the Science Inquiry Entry Form 2012 and return to your teachers by Monday, February 13.  Additional information and forms can be downloaded here:

Deadline to enter is Monday, February 13, 2012. Please register early! It helps PTA in planning, including purchasing the correct number of tri-fold boards, and it helps your child have enough time to design and complete a meaningful project.

By now you should have received your child’s order form for the SilverGraphics Artwork Fundraiser.

Inside this order form you will find a 4×6 print of your child’s artwork. This print is yours to keep! Treasure it!  Every single piece of art created by our students here at Willamette Primary School turned out amazing!

Orders are due MONDAY, NOVEMBER 7th!

All products will be delivered with plenty of time for holiday gift giving.

Check out the product samples in the display case in the main hallway!

The Lost and Found is piling up!

After the socks and underwear drive for Pizza Bingo Night the lost and found will be donated to the Clothes Closet.  Please check the lost and found soon!

The 2011 Read to us Week is right around the corner!

From October 31st through Nov 4th your child’s classroom will probably host a variety of people who will read stories and answer some questions about how they’ve contributed to our society…so far!  We have a huge variety of community members already scheduled and are in need of more!  

If you are interested in reading, or know of a person who would be a great reader for our kids, please contact the Read to us Week chairs, either Christy Russell christydunnrussell@yahoo.com or Jen Butts butts.jennifer@yahoo.com.  

We need volunteers to help make the week happen by greeting readers and hosting the greeting table (this is a very fun job!  It involves a 2 hr shift, greeting readers, providing their already selected books and making sure they get to their class safely!)
